Bouquet for Gathering

Dear Editor

I attended the inaugural Hayland Games on Saturday driving over the Plains from Binya.

Nice weather but needed to look for the shade come lunchtime!

What a great day, enjoyed by the many people there.

Nothing like the sound of bagpipes coming down the road to send the shivers up your spine !

Good to see so many dancers competing in the Highland Dancing, a large crowd watching the events and apparently a class for dancing is available at Hay.

The Highland Muscle group was a drawcard as well, this includes ladies as well.

Music included the Sing Australia team. Nice to see many sporting their Clan Tartans as was I.

Didn't meet any of my Matheson Clan but had a lot of chats with various members of other Clans as I wandered around the ground.

Hello to Brenda, my companion in the shade, a McFarlane Clan person.

A mad rush to find a kilt for the The Kilted Dash which was well contested, a lot of fun for the kids.

Congratulations to the organising group and we can all look forward to 2024.
