Well done Hay

Recently a Melbourne friend and I visited Hay.

I attended the high school in Hay over 50 years ago but prior to this visit have not viewed the town through tourist eyes.

We went to most of the sites recommended by the informative tourist bureau staff and really enjoyed ourselves.

We were both very impressed by the town.

The effort put in to beautify and improve the town has certainly paid dividends.

The nature strips and gardens seemed well tended and the museums/exhibits demonstrate a level of sophistication.

Hay truly is a tourist destination in itself, not just a town to be driven through on the way to somewhere else.

The residents of Hay should feel proud of their town.

In fact, we were so enamoured that to paraphrase the words of Arnold Schwarzenegger, “we will be back”.
