$35,000 for Boonoke ram

$18,000 top price for Wanganella ram

Wanganella & Poll Boonoke Merino Sale, held recently, saw 77 rams sold, to a top price of $18,000 for the Wanganella stud.

The sale averaged $2,958.

Poll Boonoke sold a total of 139 rams to a top of $35,000 to Cora Lynn and Haddon Rig Studs.

The Boonoke sale averaged $3,477 with an overall sale average $3,292.

Caroonboon’s top ram sells for $3,250

Caroonboon Merino stud offered 78 rams at its recent sale, and successfully sold 67 to a top price of $3,250. Rams in the sale averaged $1,789.86.

Avenel sells to top of $7000

Avenel Merinos principal Colin McCrabb with daughters Amelia and Phoebe and the top selling ram purchased by Debbie and Geoff Mott, long-standing clients from Yerong Creek.

Avenel Merinos achieved a total clearance when all 96 stud and specially selected rams sold under the hammer last Friday.

A further 24 selected rams were also sold on the day.

Rams sold to a top of $7000 for a 15-month-old 18.8-micron Poll to Geoff and Debbie Mott from Yerong Creek.

As one of the longest-running stud sales in Australia, long-standing return clients made up the bulk of the buyers at the 45th annual ram sale.

“We have been buying Avenel rams and Avenpart kelpies from the McCrabb family for 25 years,” buyers of the charity ram, Geoff and Jan Davis from Rennie said.

“Ken classed our young ewes for many years, and now Colin comes over. They are like family to us, honest, hard-working people you can trust.”

Complete clearance for Collinsville Hay sale

Collinsville Stud’s (from left) Tim Dalla, Tony Brooks and George Millington with Hay Plains Livestock’s Ed and Rupert Lilburne at the recent ram sale, held in Hay.

Collinsville Stud held its annual private selection and inspection day at Hay recently, at ‘Tarcoura’ owned by Ed and Iona Lilburne.

A selection of 150 flock rams were on offer by the South Australian outfit. The sales were negotiated privately and Collinsville reported they had a complete clearance, with all flock rams selling between $1,200 and $2,000.
