Organisers of the Bill Baird Memorial Highway to Hell Challenge proudly presented a cheque to Ivanhoe Central School on the weekend.

Committee members donated $839.50 which was accepted by the school’s Heather McGinty, representing principal Greg Edwards.

This year the annual event held its first full run since Covid-19 interfered, with 40 people making the trek to Ivanhoe in a variety of cars and motorbikes.

“Bill was all for education,” committee member Peter May said.

The funds will be used by the school to purchase library resources and to fund the annual scholarship, awarded to and Ivanhoe student in Mr Baird’s memory.
