Club can collection milestone

Hay Services Club’s recycling efforts reached an impressive milestone on the weekend, when the 100th container of cans and bottles was shipped away.

The Club has been offering the service, under the NSW ‘Return and Earn’ scheme for three years, sorting aluminim cans and glass and plastic bottles each weekend.

The containers hold approximately 25,000 units, so this effort has avoided 2.5 million cans and bottles being thrown into landfill. The local scheme is entirely volunteer run.
