Phyl’s commitment to the trucking industry earns her Hay’s top gong

Hay’s 2022 Citizen of the Year Phyl Jones

Phyllis Jones is a true leader and loves what she does.

This has earned her the Hay Citizen of the Year Award for 2022.

Phyl began working in the trucking industry after marrying Neville Jones in 1964.

She left behind a successful career as flight attendant, and despite knowing very little about the transport industry, she quickly earned her heavy vehicle licence and became a regular driver, operating livestock and tip trucks for the family business, whilst at the same time raising a young family of four.
