Skaters taken to the next level in popular TOTEM workshop

Dallas Giddins and Paigan Gee each took home a new skateboard after winning the Intereach competition. They are pictured with Paul Stevens and Tiffany Marsden from Intereach.

The sun was shining and Hay Skatepark was pumping over the school holidays when local youth were treated to free skate workshops; just before the wet weather set in.

Run by the professional team from TOTEM Skateboarding, the morning kicked off with the beginners learning the basics of balance safety before the more experienced skateboarders took to the ramps.

The Intereach team ran a competition to see who could remove the wheels from a skateboard the fastest. Dallas Giddins and Paigan Gee were the winners, with both taking home a new skateboard and other prizes.

The morning culminated in freestyle scooter and skate jam sessions where everyone could put what they had learnt into action and impress onlookers with their new tricks and skills.

The skate workshops were supported by Hay Shire Council under the NSW Government’s Spring Holiday Break Program.
