Hay Inc has delivered the Hay Inc Rural Education Program for 10 years, and now have 145 young adults that make up the Hay Inc Alumni.

After completing their final training week, graduation was held after competing in the Junior Sheep Judging at the 2024 Hay Sheep Show.

Hay Inc. launched their tenth highly regarded Rural Education Program last week, with a cohort of 16 students.

The participants hail from Hay, Ivanhoe, Condobolin, the Central West region and eastern Riverina, ranging in age from 18 to 25 years.

This year female students make up the majority of the class.

“A couple of students have grown up in cities and keen to have a career in agriculture,” program manager Sandra Ireson told The Riverine Grazier.

The Hay Inc Rural Education Program is a three-week course run in the Hay district, over a five-month period generally aligning with farming seasons. It provides hands-on training modules covering all the necessary skills of stockmanship in sheep, cattle and farming skills.

Hay Inc committee recently won Ambassador Award at the 2023 Hay business Excellence Awards.

Hay Incorporated held a networking event for the Alumni of their Hay Inc Rural Education Program on Saturday evening.
