Cricket season concludes with Governor’s Cup

Hay Cricket Club celebrated the conclusion of its season in style, welcoming special guest, Her Excellency the honourable Margaret Beazley Governor of NSW, for the Governor’s Cup.
The battle for the Governor’s Cup was hard fought but friendly, with the rain not dampening the good spirit.
Congratulations to all of the highly talented players for the stellar year they had.
Congratulations also to the hard working volunteers who facilitate the sport’s continuation in Hay.
Pictured with the Governor are Simon Bunyan, Josh Gardiner, Jack Cattanach and Dean Aylett.
Simon was awarded Creet Cup Player of the Year, with 71 runs at 71, and 12 wickets at 6. Simon also won the Clive Davenport Award.
Josh won Most Bowling Wickets, with 17 wickets at 8.4, and Bowling Award with 17 wickets at 8.4. He is one of the youngest players on the Seniors Team.
Jack Cattanach won Bowling Average, with 145 runs at 52, he is pictured right of the Governor holding the Governor’s Cup on behalf of the victorious South team.
Far right is Dean Aylett, who walked away with a few awards. He won Batting Award, with 416 runs at 52. He won Beissel Shield, named for the sporting great Don Beissel, with 416 runs at 52, and 11 wickets at 9.3.
Dean also won Michael Howard Most Valuable Player, with 15 points.
He also won Batting Most Runs with 416 runs at 52.
Bill Auldist (absent) won Bowling Average with 9 wicket at 4.
