Hay is proving itself to be the team to watch, as the 2023 season is still in its infancy. Three of the Hay teams annihalated Moulamein by large margins.

B Reserve - Hay 64 defeated Moulamein 21 - B Res took on Moulamein with some confidence, having secured a couple of super subs in Sophie Tapper GS and Emily Caughey GD.

Hay took the lead after a good start and continued on throughout the game.

Players’ Player was Sophie Tapper who made it look easy, Kate Moran (IGA Award) got just about every centre pass and Emily Caughey (Hannah McGufficke Hairdressing Award) displayed solid defence.

Under 17s - Hay 55 defeated Moulamein 13 - In a high-flying match of netball prowess, Hay U17s roared their way to a decisive victory over Moulamein Swans.

Lions' ferocious attack was led by the dynamic duo of Sophie Tapper and Sienna Lund, whose shooting accuracy left Swans feeling a little less than graceful.

Lions' centre court play was exceptional, with Lucy Shea (Active Farmers award) leading the charge with lightning-fast footwork and impressive passing skills.

Lions' defence was impenetrable, with Kodi Scott (Peter Mullins Building award) putting up a formidable wall in the WD position, while Emily Caughey made sure to shut down any attempts by the Swans to get past her in GD.

Emily Hill (Murrumbidgee Real Estate award) made her first appearance of the season, playing a blinder in WA, linking up well with her teammates and making some impressive plays.

Ella Harrison's rebounding skills were simply out of this world, as she pulled in some truly fantastic catches in the GK position.

Under 14s - Hay 47 defeated Moulamein 8 - Hay girls were strong from the start with good positioning, hands on the ball defence and strategic team play.

Hannah Jamieson (Hay Calisthenics Award) positioned herself well in the circle and combined well with Genevieve Williamson (Hay Newsagency Award) to create many attacking opportunities which they converted to goals.

Hannah Edmonds (Lund Contracting Award) applied her training into practice and provided great defensive pressure in WD and also supported getting the ball down the court.

This round was the Headspace Round with a HeadsOn award given to a player who supported their team, sought help from others and helps players in adversity.

Congratulations to Matilda Nisbet who was the recipient for U14s who also played a strong game in defence.

A Grade - Moulamein 74 defeated Hay 27 - With three girls out from A grade the team took the first quarter to adjust.

Second quarter was Hay’s best, only being beaten by four goals.

Jade Auldist (South Hay Hotel Best on Court) played a strong and consistent game in centre applying pressure and support all through the court. Dim Comb (Hay Lions Players Player) in her second match played a strong game in defence getting rebounds and pressure against an on-target shooter. Indie Hicks (DG Harrison Engineering Coaches Award) for intercepts and improvements in positioning.

A gutsy effort by the Hay girls considering a number of girls played two matches and Moulamein will be a strong contender for finals.

B Grade - Moulamein 42 defeated Hay 40 - This week due to injuries and a wedding, the original team members dwindled to just four. Thankfully Ellie Hicks, Katie Howard and Ruby Cattanach stepped up for a second game to help.

Hay came out strong, working well together to turn the ball over a few times to score from Moulamein centre passes in the first quarter with the score 10-7. Second quarter saw Hay lose the ball around the goals while still working out the different player dynamic, which allowed Moulamein to catch up to even the score 19 all at the half time. It was goal for goal for the most part, with the score again tied at the last break, 28 all. Moulamein demonstrated their sheer determination for the win in the last quarter, winning by two goals.

Dim Comb (Tantrum Hair & Beauty Players Player and Riv Hotel Best on Court) consistently gave 100 per cent and provided plenty of positive vocal support. Cas Tidey (Hay Bowling and Golf Club Coach’s Award) listened and took on board all ideas and had great defence on her player the whole game.

F Troop - Hay got off to a great start with Lily and Rachael starting in the goals and finishing the quarter with an 8-goal lead. The second quarter was as successful. this time with Maggie and Alaina in goals, extending our lead by 10 with some good long shots.

Sophie Griffiths (Canteen Award) was always there as back up on every pass and had some terrific intercepts, Lily Books gave it her all again showing how quickly she is learning a new sport with her outside arm defence and Lexi May (Canteen Award) showed off her new skills.
