Councillors ignored a clear message from voters
Madam
I would have thought the clear and unequivocal message to emerge from the recent Council elections was none other than a ringing endorsement of Jenny Dwyer’s term as our Mayor.
Ms Dwyer received an impressive 30% of the primary vote which can be interpreted no other way than a resounding pat on the back for her performance as our Mayor (our new incumbent Mayor received less than 7% of the primary vote).
In other words, a collective thank-you from the voters of Hay for a job very well done.
Yet, the new team of councillors choose to ignore the feelings of the electorate and unceremoniously show her the door.
Talk about an own goal. Et tu Bruté
