Praise for showgrounds

Dear Madam,

I have received recent news that the Showgrounds area with a new Caretaker has never been in better shape, and this is heartening and was indeed needed.

The only stables that should remain is the over nighters that pay $15 per horse per night and the rest demolished and store the good material. This area could be well grassed with lawns and gardens plus a few more powered camp sites. The race day starting gates can be simply stored with a canvas or plastic all weather covering up near the gun club in the Car Park.

I will continue to support Hay Gold Cup Day late in November each year with a couple of starters and use the over nighters and pay accordingly, and it would be great to be able to camp close to my horses.

This year the race day has been considered to be nationally televised on free to air Racing.com channels 68/78 so in the best interests of the Community and forward progress of the towns economics the project of beautifying the only remaining eye sore should start immediately, regardless of unqualified reactions especially, from those unlicensed, in these days of strict OH&S protocols on showgrounds and racetracks.

Yours Sincerely,

Ron Johnson
