Another windfarm proposal for the Hay Plains

Another windfarm proposal, located 55km south of town, has been presented to Hay Shire Council.

True Blew Windfarm is offering renewable energy to power 500,000 homes with a one-billion-dollar infrastructure investment.

The 1000MW wind farm with battery storage will host 170 wind turbines with a connection point into the proposed Project Energy Connect (commonly referred to as the Transgrid line) which runs through the proposed site. The turbines will be up to 300 metres high which is the proven most efficient size according to the developers.

The proposed windfarm site sits at the junction of Jerilderie and Willurah Roads with Oolambeyan National Park a close neighbour. The development proposes to coexist with the current land use of sheep and cattle grazing across four properties.

True Blew Wind Farm is a proposal by multinational German company, BayWa r.e. which was a sponsor in the recent Hay Business Excellence Awards.
