Highland gathering secured for district

Funding has been secured to stage a highland dancing gathering in Hay next year. The inaugural Hayland Gathering will be held on Saturday, March 11 on No 1 Oval. It is supported by NSW government through the Reconnecting Regional NSW Community Events Program and Hay Shire Council.

Further details will be confirmed, but initial planning includes hosting the Riverina Titles for Highland Dancing, Highland Muscle Heavy Event competition, Massed Pipe Bands and Clan tents. There will also be stalls and entertainment.

Members of the Hay community are invited to volunteer to form a committee, with the first meeting to be held at 5.30pm on Tuesday, October 18 at Hay Services Club.
