NO NEW POOL FOLLOWING FEDERAL ELECTION RESULTS

A Coalition Government pre-election promise of $2 million towards the construction of a new pool for Hay has been lost after the Australian Labor Party won the 2022 election with 73 seats against 54 for the Liberal National Party on Saturday.

Member for Farrer, Sussan Ley has comfortably retained her seat in Saturday’s Federal election but lost her position as Minister for the Environment. Ms Ley polled 54 per cent of the primary votes for the Liberal Party, ahead of Labor’s Darren Cameron on 32.8 per cent.; a swing of 2.6 per cent to ALP. Sussan Ley has held the seat since 2001.

The Greens Party gained two seats and the Independents expected to swell to 10 seats at the time of going to press yesterday morning.
