Hay Venturer Scout and current Hay Young Citizen of the Year, Ben Caughey has been crowned the inaugural NSW Scout of the Year People’s Choice Award winner.

Ben’s award in the People’s Choice category comes after he received the most votes across the 17 finalists from over 2,000 public votes received, and through the support of the Hay community.

Hay Showgirl and former Young Citizen of the Year, Gemma Tassell is a finalist of the Sydney Royal AgShows NSW Young Woman 2022. Gemma was sashed as Hay’s Showgirl in December 2021 and last weekend travelled to West Wyalong with 14 other contestants for judging before the announcement on Saturday evening.
