Strong field in 2024 Local Government elections in Hay, Balranald, Edward River and Carrathool Shires

Ten candidates will vie for a seat of eight on the new Hay Shire Council when voters go to the polls on Saturday, September 14.

They are, in order of ballot: David Townsend, Martyn Quinn, Will Miller, Steven Young, Carol Oataway, Lionel Garner, Darren Tapper, Paul Porter, John Perry and Geoff Chapman.

Balranald Shire has 13 contestants in the first Local Government elections since the former Council was put under administration.

Candidates, in order of ballot, are: Dwayne Scott, Morgan Rasmus, German Ugarte, Tracy O’Halloran, Leigh Byron, Patricia Winch, Lynda Moss., Louie Zaffina, Alison Linnett, Iain Linsay Field, Brodie Rayner, Ronald Mengler and Philip Pippin.

Sixteen candidates have nominated for Edward River Council: Frank Schofield, Craig Druitt, Shirlee Burge, Ashley Hall, Airlie Circuitt, Jeff Shand, David Schoeffel, Shannon Sampson, Kellie Crossley, Ken Bates, Donna McFeeters, Leanne Mulham, Colin Sander, Gregory Briscoe-Hough, Richard McDaid and Linda Fawns.

Carrathool Shire A Ward: David Fensom, Darryl Jardine, Heather Lyall, Craig McKeon, Julie Potter and Geoff Peters. B Ward: Beverley Furner, Nicholas Smith, Jamie Parsons, Jeffrey Mickan, Anne-Maree Young, David Burchamburcham, Damon Liddicoat and Micael Armstrong.

The Local Government elections will be held across NSW on Saturday, September 14, 2024.
