Alice cleans up
Local cricketer Alice Caldow represented the Riverina CHS Girls Cricket team in Kingscliff last week.
After an all-round good performance opening the bowling and batting 1st drop, Alice was not only awarded the Riverina medal for her passion for the sport, commitment to the team, leadership and team spirit but was also selected in the 2nd NSWCHS 12 to play in the NSW All Schools Cricket Championships next year at Barooga.
With one tournament down, the travel to Wollongong began to represent Riverina Bullets in the Female Regional Big Bash, along with other local superstar, Jodie Hicks (both pictured above).
Even though Alice was one of the youngest players on the team, she opened the bowling and picked up 4 wickets.
Riverina Bullets bowled their opponents out cheaply in all 3 games, leading to them going undefeated so they will play in Sydney for the finals next year.
Alice wanted to say a big thank you to her mother, Linda Caldow for making the 3100 km round trip possible, she couldn’t have done it without her. Well done Alice, such a phenomenal achievement, and for her mother, parents of children with immense talent are truly the unsung heroes when living in isolation, reliably and painstakingly making it all happen, getting them where they need to be for their dreams to come true.
