Tough day for Hay cricketers
In an unprecedented day of representative cricket, Hay as the current holders of the O'Farrell Cup and the Creet Cup, took on both challenges on Sunday, Wagga and respectively.
It was a tough day for both teams but a great testament to the strength of Hay cricket that it could field competitive teams in both competitions.
Historic cricket win - Hay takes out the O’Farrell Cup
“The best win of all time,” Hay cricketing legend David Davies.
As the O’Farrell cup celebrates 100 years in November, a result such as this has not been seen before, when Hay defeated the powerhouse Albury/Wodonga side.
David Davies, district cricketing and sports legend, who made his debut in the O’Farrell Cup in 1959, was at the Urana Road Oval to watch the game and his grandson Tom, who batted at number 3. David declared it the best win of all time.
Hay brings cricket’s Creet Cup home
Hay cricketers snatched back the highly sought after Creet Cup, defeating Griffith.

Hay Cricket’s senior representative team has finished the Creet Cup season undefeated for the first time in 28 years, after a strong win over Ardlethan/Barellan at home on Sunday.
