Bowling Club team section winners
Hay Bowling Club have walked away victorious, winning the Division Four Zone Eight Open Pennant Group C Championship.
Hay Hosted Griffith in the last Game of the season, with a must win for both sides.
Griffith had five of their top players unavailable, leaving their substitutes under the pump, from a determined Hay side.
The result was predicted by a confident Team Manager, Jim Ovens, aiming for a 10 to zero win, but the team were more than happy to settle for a nine to one victory.
This win by Hay Bowling Club and a win by Leeton and District put Griffith out of top spot in Division three.
Leeton and District defeated Darlington Point 10 to zero, securing the much-coveted flag.
“I would like to thank our Subs that filled in during the season and our Sponsors, the Black Sheep Cafe for supplying the sandwiches, Design Yr Sign for Supplying the Pennant Cards and the Services Club for making their bus available,” President Jim ovens said.
“We are all overjoyed with the win.”
MINOR SINGLES – “Minor singles are into the second round, due to inclement weather round two will be played during the week to get things back on track, so get your marker sorted and get on the green,” Jim continued.
“First mentioned to contact opponent, Leanne Congdon to play Geoff Lucas, Phill Ruddick to play Leon Knight, John Lucas to play Lee Young and Peter Marks to play Nathan Crocker.”
