Police news - Brawl disrupts ANZAC Day commemorations and vandals strike Hay Park

Emergency services were called to Hay Services Club at around 5.45pm on Thursday, after reports of two separate assaults which occurred during ANZAC Day two-up.

Officers attached to Murrumbidgee Police District were told a 29-year-old man was assaulted by two men in the bathroom, whilst a 27-year-old woman was assaulted by another woman in the courtyard.

The man was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to hospital for treatment. The woman was uninjured.

An investigation into both incidents has commenced.

Over the weekend several businesses had their garbage bins removed from their premises.

Reports on social media claim they were used to block streets during the early hours of Saturday April 27.

Extensive damage to the changerooms at Hay Park was discovered on Sunday morning, by volunteers setting up for a local sport competition.

A window was removed to gain entry and internal walls damaged.

No Police report had been received at the time of publication.
