Local champion dog handler and breeder Geoff McDougall and his dog six-year-old Ace took home the Victorian Yard Dog Championship on the weekend.

It is the second Victorian title for the duo, who first won it back in 2021.

Ace and Geoff scored 371 points to take the title, six points clear of the runner-up.

Earlier in the day Ace also secured the open category ribbon, with a solid win.

Under Geoff’s tutelage Ace is amassing an impressive stash of winner’s ribbons.

In 2020 Ace took out both the South Australian and Australian Novice Titles, and the novice class at the Peppin Heritage Championships in 2021.

Geoff has other state titles to his credit, using other dogs from his championship stable.

Geoff and wife Kylie have established their own breeding program “McDougall Kelpie Stud” at Hay and have rapidly gained the respect of breeders across the country.
