Farrer MP predicts December election
“I've always said the blokes at the front bar have got more wisdom than all the politicians in Parliament” - Sussan Ley

Member for Farrer Sussan Ley was in Hay last week, meeting members of the community, as part of her ‘Pollies in the Pub’ campaign.
Ms Ley’s first round of meetings took place at Kinfolk Coffee Shop, which is where The Riverine Grazier met up with the local member, who said there’s a “50/50 chance” of a federal election this year.
“I'm not the only person who thinks that, so it could well be there's an election on December 7,” Ms Ley said.
“I think December's a possibility. Governments go to elections when they think they can win. And if they think that the situation is going to deteriorate, then they may decide to go early”
Ms Ley also said she welcomed the announcement that the newly formed Voices of Farrer movement intends to endorse a candidate for the seat, that covers the townships of Hay and Balranald.
“I think that, like any contest of ideas, the more ideas you have, the better the contest,” Ms Ley said.
“So I've always welcomed people who want to run in the seat of power. I think it's great for democracy.”
Ms Ley also visited the New Crown and Riverina Hotels during her visit.
“I've always said the blokes at the front bar have got more wisdom than all the politicians in Parliament.”
