Three new Aussies for Hay

“Today you become an Australian Citizen.” Those were the words of Minister for Immigration, Citizenship, Migrant Services and Multicultural Affairs Alex Hawke MP, in a message to Hay’s newest citizens.

Mayor Carol Oataway read Minister Hawke’s message at a ceremony hosted by Hay Shire Council on Friday, where Pieter (Franscois) Fouche, Shelby Millar, and Yee Wah (Eva) took their citizenship pledge in front of family and friends.

“Making the pledge is the final step in becoming a citizen,” Cr Oataway said, in her welcome.
