Former Hay War Memorial High School student and local cricket star, Charlee Masters has been named in the annual Governor Generals XI 12 Player squad.

The squad will play Pakistan on January 13, at Allan Border Field, Brisbane.

Charlee, an able seaman, has been selected to represent Australian Defence Force.

Charlee is a highly regarded medium pace bowler.

She is paving the way for eligible defence force personnel to have opportunities to participate in such events.

She will join the creme de la crème of domestic cricketers in the line up.

“This annual fixture presents a great opportunity to see some of the brightest young cricketers take on an international opposition,” National Selector, Shawn Flegler told Sydney Sixers News.

“Pakistan will be a great test for the side.

“The talent in this squad shows the depth in the women’s game in Australia.

“This is a testament to the role the underage talent pathway and domestic tournaments are playing in the development of our next generation of players.”

Dates of matches are as follows:

13 January: Governor-General’s XI v Pakistan, 10:05am, Allan Border Field, Brisbane

16 January: 1st ODI, 10:05am, Allan Border Field, Brisbane

18 January: 2nd ODI, 10:05am, Allan Border Field, Brisbane

21 January: 3rd ODI, 10:05am, Australia v Pakistan, North Sydney Oval, Sydney.

We are sure that this is merely the tip of the iceberg for Charlee, and that her star will continue to rise.

Congratulations Charlee we will all be watching and cheering on from here. We will be keeping an eye out for your next ventures.
