Kids lead the way
Hay’s children are leading the way in representative sport.
Skye Cannon recently competed at the Inter Schools show jumping competition at Scots Albury.
Skye and her horse Typhoon Fury scored a clear round in the 60-centimetre event, qualifying for the Werribee Interschools Championships next month.
Booligal School super fish Dusty Plum qualified second in the Junior Boys Butterfly at the recent Deniliquin carnival and will represent the Riverina at the NSW PSSA State Swimming Championships in Sydney in April.
Hay War Memorial High School student Emily Shea also performed admirably in the pool and earned her a place in the Riverina team and upcoming NSW carnival, in the 50-metre freestyle event.
During the week Brad Callaghan trialled for the Riverina Open Boys Rugby League, while Max Booth, Ned Williamson and Alex Giddins took to the field with Deniliquin Zone team in the Western Riverina AFL trials.
